The sequel common sense has told us would happen is officially happening as Deadpool 2 is a go!

At today’s 20th Century Fox CinemaCon 2016 presentation, the studio’s co-CEOs Stacey Snider and Jim Gianopulos announced that Ryan Reynolds and director Tim Miller are already hard at work on sequel to the smash hit!

Most of us pretty much assumed a sequel was all but guaranteed as the movie, made for 58 million, has gone on to gross 757 million worldwide and holds the title as the highest grossing R-rated movie ever. That’s a margin of profit and prestige major movie studio dreams are made of. Rhett Resse and Paul Wernick will also be returning to pen the script so expect the same gratuitous violence, meta humor and unicorns we all loved earlier this year.

As seen in Deadpool’s post credit scene, time traveling X-Men Cable was teased to team up with the Merc with the Mouth in the second movie. Who else would you like to see partner up with the Merc With the Mouth? Let us know in the comments!

Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Ed Skrein Francis/Ajax, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
