Just a couple month ago we were hit with a bunch of different teasers for upcoming X-Men related titles as a part of the new ResurreXion initiative including ones for Ice Man, Generation, X, and Weapon X. We’ve gotten info on both the Ice Man and Generation X series but brace yourselves x-fans I’ve got some news that’s sure to get you fired up, especially if you’re a fan of the first lady of the X-Men, Jean Grey. jean-grey-1 Merry X-Mas true believers. What a way to kick off December than with even more X-Men news. The creative team has officially been announced for the Jean Grey ongoing series coming this spring. The series is being written by Dennis Hopeless with art by Victor Ibanez. Both of them are definitely no strangers to the world of the merry mutants. Hopeless recently had his run on All New X-Men and Ibanez has done work on Extraordinary X-Men.

The series will star the time displaced Jean Grey, and as with any great Jean Grey story you know the Phoenix is involved. Hopeless explains that the Phoenix is back and the Earth is doomed unless Jean can step up to face her destiny. Can everyone’s favorite telepath fill her own massive future shoes? She’ll have to strap in, travel, and get some life experience to find out. Her X-Men Blue teammates will also feature as guest stars in her series as well. Hopeless also says that the series will have Jean exploring the Marvel Universe, open up opportunities for great cameos as well as involvement from other phoenix related characters. This is definitely exciting news for one of the biggest members of the original X-Men, and I am so in for this ride. What do you guys think of this news?
