Guardians Of The Galaxy Offers First Look At Ego the Living Planet

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is creeping ever closer and Comicbook.com has brought us our first possible look at Kurt Russell’s character Ego. While Funko has created an Ego Pop!, this preview is our first look at Russel in costume.

According to rumor, Ego will be appearing as both his human figure (pictured above) and a cosmic “planet” figure, which is more in line with his traditional comic book appearances.  Ego’s odd history in the comics of both villain and anti-villain is expected to be further explored in the film.  The notion of seeing him as a planet is exciting.

New Trailer Coming Soon?

This look comes after learning that a second trailer is expected to drop next week.  Rumor has it the trailer will drop during Jimmy Kimmel live on Tuesday. It’s just a rumor, but with Logan dropping on Friday more Marvel trailers are very very likely. Hopefully this new trailer will offer us actual footage of Peter Quill’s father as well as more of Mantis, Rocket, Gamora, Drax, Peter, and of course, Baby Groot.   The new trailer will have a run time of 2 minutes and 22 seconds, and hopefully feature a new song that we can add to our list of Awesome Mix Vol. 2 music.  Excited? Intrigued? Sound off in the comments below and tell us what you think.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 drops May 5th 2017.
