Allegra Acosta (Molly Hernandez)
Molly Hernandez may be the youngest member of the team, but Allegra Acosta doesn’t see that as a bad thing.
“It’s actually really wonderful because I get to play with that youth dynamic and that new perspective that some of the older kids don’t understand.”
For example, the older kids might be more skeptical of becoming heroes, but Molly is determined to use her powers for good.
“She wants to take on the world, and she wants to make the world a better place. And she just wants them to believe in that as much as she does.”
Last season Molly was the first character we saw discover her powers.
“There’s a lot more action sequences this season…There were so many fun moments. Like, I get to flip the car. And it’s fun because they’re kind of trial and errors for Molly.”
“It’s all this season of her just messing around with her powers and kind of just seeing her greater good in herself and believing in herself.”
Because Molly already lost her family, she’s less hesitant to take risks and more willing to go out and use her powers. Acosta tells us this puts her at odds with some of the other characters.
“And that’s why you see Molly kind of struggling with the other characters… to be like, ‘Hey, yo, I’ve got this,’… because she’s naturally super street smart, she’s naturally capable of like taking down a grizzly bear or another mutant or another superhero.”
No matter what foe Molly ends up facing, we can’t wait to see her in action in Season 2.
All episodes of Season 2 of Runaways will be available on Hulu on December 21.
