Stan Lee Tribute: An Art Exhibition is coming to the Chuck Jones Gallery in downtown San Diego. The gallery is located at 232 5th Avenue, just a short walk from the San Diego Convention Center – home of San Diego Comic Con. The event takes place on Saturday April 27th from 6-9pm, as Avengers: Endgame hits theaters.
In a press release the Chuck Jones Gallery stated “We are hosting an Homage to Spider-Man and Marvel Universe creator, the inimitable Stan Lee, on the eve of National Superhero Day. The San Diego gallery will feature the work of local San Diego artist, Randy Martinez, as well as that of twelve other artists commissioned by Marvel to interpret the Marvel Universe.”
Martinez, celebrated Star Wars and Marvel Comics Artist, will be the event’s special guest. There will be a selection of Martinez’s Remarqued Canvas Works that he will personally dedicate the night of the show.
In addition to Randy Martinez, the other artists who will be showcased include Simone Bianchi, T.C. Black, Christopher Clark, Gabrielle Dell’Otto, Adi Granov, Bryan Hitch & Paul Neary, James C. Mulligan, Humberto Ramos, Lawrence Reynolds, Tim Rogerson, and John Romita, Sr.
Here is a small sample of the artwork that will be on display, and for sale at the gallery event. There will be over 35 exclusive works of art available, starting at just $175, some of which were autographed by Stan Lee before his passing.
The gallery has already started coming together and will be ready by Saturday’s event.
In addition to artists and artwork, the Science Fiction Coalition will be on hand, bringing a number of local Marvel themed costumers to the event. Meet with your favorite Marvel character and grab a selfie!
