Actor Richard Madden could be joining the cast of Marvel’s upcoming The Eternals, according to a report from The Wrap.
The Scottish actor is best known for his starring roles on Game of Thrones and Bodyguard, and has even been rumored to be in consideration to play the next James Bond.
He would join a stacked cast that already includes Angelina Jolie and Kumail Nanjiani.
Chloe Zhao, an award-winning director behind 2018’s The Rider, will direct.
Writers Matthew and Ryan Firpo, whose spec script Ruin was at the top of the 2017 Black List, will write the script.
The Eternals, created by Jack Kirby in the 1970s, are a part of Marvel’s cosmic universe and a race of superheroes created by the Celestials to defend the Earth.
It seems likely Madden could play Ikaris, one of the main characters in the Eternals saga though no characters have been confirmed for the film.
Marvel has not commented on the report.
