Big news keeps coming in for the upcoming Hawkeye series on Disney+! According to Variety, Hailee Steinfeld (Bumblebee) is being looked for the Kate Bishop role in the Marvel Studios series that would feature Jeremy Renner reprising the role of Clint Barton a.k.a. Hawkeye.

The series is set to feature Clint taking Bishop under his wings to train her into becoming the next Hawkeye. While Steinfeld has been offered the role, she has yet to sign on for the series. This would be Steinfeld’s second big Marvel role as she voiced Spider-Gwen in the Academy Award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and is set to reprise the role in a sequel and a female spin-off.

The casting report follows last week’s news that Jonathan Igla (Mad Men) has been tapped to write and executive produce the series for Disney+ and Marvel Studios. Reportedly, the series will be somewhere between six-eight episodes similarly to the other Marvel Studios shows Loki, WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Moon Knight.

Hawkeye is set to land on Disney+ in fall 2021.
