The all new, all different Astonishing X-Men finds it’s writer and more! Charles Soule (Daredevil, She-Hulk, and Death Of Wolverine) will be head lining  the new X-Men comic series. This will be an on going series from excellent creators who will unite fan favorites and most popular X-Men characters mythology for a glorious story that will redefine the mutant world in the Marvel Universe.

Marvel announced the news earlier on their website, and had an awesome quote from Marvel’s editor-in-chief, Alex Alonso:

“If you’re going to relaunch a book called ASTONISHING X-MEN, it had better live up to the title.  Charles and his soon-to-be-revealed collaborators are about to unveil a story that touches every corner of the X-Men mythology, and the first issue alone will have massive ramifications for the Children of the Atom.  We can’t wait to tell you more about this book.”

This definitely sounds like it will be a lot of fun to read!

The Astonishing X-Men lineup is: Old Man Logan, Archangel, Rogue, Gambit, Psylocke, and Fantomex.  A familiar foe that been reborn will bring this team together.  The team will have to defeat this enemy while also trying to save one of their own; they will go to places that we’d never thought they could go.

Charles Soule to Marvel:

“Other than the occasional line here and there, I haven’t written most of the characters in the Astonishing X-Men lineup before – for me, that’s a fantastic challenge. It’s been fun to get into their heads and think about what they all might have going on at this point in their lives. That said, the series is designed as a fresh starting point, so anyone jumping in with [ASTONISHING X-MEN #1] will get everything they need there to follow the story – even if it’s your first X-story”

Charles Soule is a great writer, so we’re looking forward to his run of Astonishing X-Men! The series is a very focused specific story that will feature new X-Men villians; the story line is also set up for amazing X-Men history to appear along the way.

Astonishing X-Men #1 will be available this July!
